Around the RISE studio, we do our best to inspire our athletes to dream big with us; to envision a life that is bigger and better than you have in this moment. If you close your eyes and visualize the life that you want (but are afraid to go after), what would it look like?
Most of them answer with "being in the best shape of my life" or "feeling stronger than I have in a long time so that I can go after [...another new adventure...]." When Ben walked through our doors a few months ago, his amazing wife had just had their 3rd & 4th babies and he was incredibly sleep deprived. He knew that if he wanted to be the best dad and husband that he envisioned that it meant showing up for himself first. This was his hour to make sure he went into the rest of his day with as much strength and stamina as possible. Ben, you are killing it. Thanks for joining our team. Q: What inspired you to take care of your health and work towards a higher fitness level? My goal was and remains to improve both mental and physical health and I also enjoy any form of competition; with a RiISE recommendation from my wife and an earlier wake up call, it’s been off to the races. I hope we’re leading by example too for our daughters to appreciate physical and mental fitness and healthy competition.
Q: What's the biggest challenge in reaching your goals? The biggest challenge for me, given life’s demands in my late 30s, has been making fitness habitual, maintaining consistent motivation and focus. Resisting salty foods and an excellent IPA has also been challenging!
Q: What is your favorite exercise? Bear crawl – brutal! RRC – Pursuit.
Q: Why RISE? It’s refreshing to show up and receive motivated coaching and community that physically extends me outside of my comfort zone every time and produces results.
