Interval Training for the WIN!

So you've fallen off the exercise bandwagon? You've lost muscle, overall fitness and are feeling like the mountain is too big to climb. It's been a long year, we get it. Believe us, we are with you. Allow us to convince you WHY interval training should be your first step in the right direction:

  1. Interval training is fast and efficient (burns a ton of calories in less time). Time is hard to come by and we dont want you to waste it - interval training includes strength training and cardio in one with less time standing around.

  2. Workouts that include strategic strength training will help to increase your resting metabolic rate - this means at rest you burn more calories leading to longterm results, reduced chances for injury, improved posture, decreased back pain and other aches & pains, and ease doing daily activities.

  3. Recent studies show that interval training is associated with decreased stress levels, increased productivity, improved mood, reduced blood pressure, and decreased disease & cancer risk.

  4. In order to lose a pound of body fat we must have a calorie deficit of 3500kcal, and a great way to help create that daily 400-500 calorie deficit is to keep your heart rate between 70-90% of your heart rate max resulting in a total calorie burn of 600-1000 in a 60min workout!

  5. When you find the right interval training program for you, you will know it! When you walk into RISE for an interval training class, certified personal trainers will help you modify as needed, give you advice on how to safely restart, plan out your progression, and provide a community to keep you motivated when yours is running low.
